Think for a moment, who has encouraged you? Do you still have those who encourage you in your life? The word ‘encourage’ means “to call alongside” or “to summon for aid. It is more than mere words of comfort; it is an active, faith-based effort to support others spiritually, emotionally, and morally. We ALL need encouragement. Do you ever feel uncertain about your future? Share those concerns with someone who will encourage you. If God encouraged Abraham, He will encourage you also because His Will will be fulfilled! Five times in five Books of the Bible, God encouraged Joshua before he led the Israelites across to the Promised Land. Joshua was a warrior and yet he needed encouragement? Yes, just like we all do. If there is no one around who will encourage you… God will or He will bring people around you for encouragement. We have a finish line to cross, and discouragement nor disillusionment can impede our races. Be an encouragement for others every day, and God will encourage you too. How do I know? The Bible tells me so. There are countless people God encouraged in the Bible. The common thread through them all is that God doesn’t necessarily remove the difficult circumstance. Sometimes He encourages us to walk through it.
