For many residents, God’s Shelter is the first safe, warm place they’ve had to rest their head in months. The Shelter is an emergency shelter for homeless women and children in central Illinois. They are provided, not only, transitional housing, but crisis management, in the form of food, clothing, and case management resources. Among these resources are financial counseling, resource referrals, pastoral care and counseling, and a consistent support system from arrival, during their stay and after departure from the Shelter.
